Northern Greatsword PrototypeHistory
An ancient giant sword made in Liyue's arsenal. Its serial number is unknown. In the old records its date of manufacture does not appear either.
The hilt is made of a very rare mineral, and the edge of a sublime steel. Although its weight exceeds five kilos, when brandished, it emits a magnificent glow so powerful that even the moon and clouds are afraid to appear in the sky.
In the aftermath of that tragedy, the Yun clan of smiths and craftsman Han Wu led Liyue's first weapon-making revolution to introduce new designs.
Thus was born the second edition of the "Encyclopedia of Prototypes". The first prototype of a great sword created on the basis of it had an unusual simplicity and brilliance.
It was really sharp and of a golden, dark and opaque color, which masked the true strength of the weapon. Although at first glance it does not seem to have anything special, when wielding it it is heavy and light at the same time.
That same night, Han Wu, who forged the sword, headed north to gift it to a martial artist friend.
He examined it closely and, in a single movement, cut down all the bamboo trees around it. The hiss produced by the sword when brandishing it was not something that was seen every day, either.
The martial artist told Han Wu that the sword was elegant and easy to handle.
A weapon so fine, of such proportion and subtlety was worthy of a great name, they baptized it with the name of "Archaic".
Thus, later on, it became the standard to be followed by the rest of the swords in Liyue's arsenal.
