Legend has it that the Eye of Insight was once as bright, clear and smooth as the surface of a lake, but over the years it became opaque.
Popular written sources state that on a quiet night, one can hear it make soft sounds.
Sometimes it sounds like a gentle breeze. Others, like the flow of a spring.
It is said that the Eye was an inheritance that the Adeptus bequeathed in Liyue, and that, in the end, it came into the hands of the Yun family.
One day, one of the Yun was walking in the mountains, where he encountered an exorcist named Huang, who had come to ask the Adeptus for advice.
Yun spoke with Huang at length, to whom he finally gifted the Eye of Insight. Scared, Huang rejected him, and Yun said with a smile:
"This pearl is the quintessence of nature. Only someone with a pure heart will be able to wear it."
As a way of thanking Yun, Huang took the Eye, hung it from his body, and slowly made his way towards Liyue. Along the way, neither the rain nor the wind were able to stop him.
Like someone in search of the Path of the Adeptus, Huang roamed the lands tirelessly. Therefore, he often went to the village markets to buy water and food.
In the streets of the port there used to be a lot of bad people. However, Huang walked among them with complete freedom, and he was never deceived by anyone.
