    Summary

    Profile

«An alchemist full of curiosity about all things. She researches bioalchemy. »

    ~ In-game attribute text

An alchemist with an insatiable curiosity about the world and everything in it. Attached to the Knights of Favonius as Albedo's assistant, her area of interest is "bio-alchemy".

He strives to enrich the world by transforming living beings with the power of alchemy.

It is true that the products of his research are sometimes more strange than wonderful, but overall, he has made notable contributions in the field of bio-alchemy.

    Appearance

Sucrose has short light green hair with a tuft of light blue skin. His vision of Anemo is attached like a clasp to the collar of his cape, and he wears his alchemist's uniform as part of the Knights of Favonius research department alongside his mentor, Albedo. She wears thick white gloves, black-rimmed glasses, and a blue corset with a ruffled hem.

Their ears are a hereditary characteristic, as indicated by their voice lines. But he disguises them as part of his hair.

    Personality

“The avid alchemist Sucrose has numerous notable achievements to her name in the field of bioalchemy, her research, or, as she puts it, 'the search for the ultimate truth', tends to produce all kinds of mysterious results.

Giant dandelions with six times the number of standard seeds, so everyone in town closes their windows when the wind blows; brick-breaking wolf hooks; Sunsettias the size of pumpkins ...

Each specimen raises big questions for sucrose, while also representing another milestone in your research, but the biggest frustration of all is how to name them. For Sucrose, this is a more agonizing process than seeing her plants stolen or contaminated during her experiments.

For example, time seemed to mercilessly pass like a relentless river when I tried to name a variety of sweet flower distinguished by its rich, sticky nectar. After expending an enormous amount of mental energy and racking up more man hours than was spent on the artificial pollination process for the entire field, he finally came up with something acceptable:

"It's specimen number twenty-eight ... it has some unique properties ... and I can always refer to the existing nomenclature ..."

    "... So I guess I'll just call it ..." Sweet Flower Project N ° 9, Version 28, Scent Strengthening Test! "»

~ Description of the official announcement

Sucrose loves to experiment and spends most of her time researching. She often stutters and gets nervous when talking about something unrelated to alchemy, even considering that some people, like Jean, are intimidating, but not out of malice. Sucrose's experiments often yield mixed results, which he often documents in scientific terms as a sign of his devotion to alchemy.

Salutations to Albedo, considering him one of the best in alchemy and a true knight.

    History

Sucrose may be the assistant to the genius alchemist Albedo, but they couldn't be more different in the direction of their investigations.

Unlike studying the essence of alchemy and the ability to create new life, Sucrose is much more interested in using alchemy to modify existing life forms to add variety and color to this world.

Despite her youth, she has already achieved some brilliant results. For example, he was able to increase the nectar production of sweet flowers by 70% by watering them with a special potion. It has also developed a special sprayer that allows the solsettias to maintain their freshness for a whole month after being plucked.

Even people who were initially suspicious of his research inclinations have come to recognize his exceptional talents in the field of alchemy after seeing such results.

However, she simply considers these to be insignificant steps on the road to a successful experiment, rather than the success itself. Its true goal is much more ambitious.

It is his secret and his dream.

    Character story 1

The numerous lines of research of bioalchemy arise from the doubts that Sucrose has about the living beings of the world. These doubts, in turn, are born of her insatiable curiosity, a faculty that she has much more developed than most people.

For example, you were once curious about Sweet Flowers, widely regarded as a source of sugar.

He wondered: although its sweetness is clearly its most identifiable characteristic, should that be reason enough to limit its applications to how it has been done so far? Shouldn't it be studied further?

Thus, after a careful study of the various characteristics of Sweet Flowers, he devised more than thirty different planting forms together with numerous control groups to take into account temperature and other environmental conditions.

And yet he underestimated how many variations were possible. As he began his experiment, Sucrose had more questions than he started with, and the novel discoveries he made inspired him to pursue new research.

She is unable to leave a question unanswered. If she does, she becomes nervous and even feels guilty for ignoring her.

Driven by her own way of being, her planting methods increased to nearly three hundred.

The result was a whole range of different varieties of Sweet Flowers: some with three times as many flowers as normal, others five or six times larger than normal; some even produced a sweet-tasting fruit.

After months of experimentation, Sucrose had finally answered all her questions about Sweet Flowers. When he finished writing his research notes, he let out a long sigh of relief.

Although she was physically and mentally exhausted, seeing so many bio-alchemical research books occupying three entire walls full of bookshelves gave her a deep sense of joy and satisfaction.

    Character story 2

For the rest of the people, Sucrose is a quiet and introverted alchemist, little interested in the lives of others.

However, the reality is quite the opposite: Sucarosa is fascinated by everything that exists in the world. What happens is that, for her, the rules of social interaction are much more difficult to master than those of alchemy.

In this, trial and error trials and a determination to get to the truth are enough to get the answers you are looking for. But in interpersonal relationships, there is the complication of taking into account manners, mood, and other non-quantifiable variables. And, as if that weren't enough, social interaction doesn't allow for a trial-and-error approach either.

Therefore, Sucarosa decided to avoid these variables at all costs and stick to the methods he knew best to satisfy his curiosity.

For example, she was always curious to know if she shared ancestry with Diona, the waitress at the Cat's Tail Tavern, since they both have feline ears.

In fact, it was not a private matter, and many people asked them about it, but Sucarosa was concerned that it was a sensitive subject. For her part, she didn't like people staring at her ears. So he turned to the method he knew best: observation.

For a whole month, Diona constantly had the disconcerting feeling that someone was secretly watching her. Consequently, she assumed that some patron of the tavern was spying on her, which did not make her very happy.

"A similar genome, but ultimately a different ancestry. Its connection to cats deserves further study. * Note: I have not yet managed to obtain a bone sample."

That was the conclusion Sucrose made in his notebook based on the findings he had made.

Bioalchemy aside, Sucrose made another discovery from that study: judging by the cat-eared glasses she made for herself after the research, she realized she had a feline cuteness unique to herself. However, she is too shy to wear the glasses in public, and only wears them when alone.

    Character story 3

Once every three days, Sucrose ventures into the real world at dusk. For her, these excursions are rare and momentous events.

Visit one by one the butchers, the Adventurer's Guild and the hunters of Aguaclara in search of a very specific material.

"Ho-hi ... Sorry, I ... would like to buy ... hm ... the freshest and best quality bones I have. Yes, the ones that still have both blood and meat scraps on them."

At first, her behavior seemed unusual to people, but once they got used to it, they were more than willing to help her; they even reserved the best bones for her.

This was a huge bonus as he was not only able to acquire a vast supply of common chicken and boar bones, but he also got a complete lizard skeleton and even a piece of leg bone from a Hilichurl that still had blood on it. fresh.

His eyes lit up with excitement at the sight of those strange and unusual bones.

Then, he thanked Katheryne of the Adventurer's Guild with all his heart, bowing after bow.

In addition to satisfying Sucrose's curiosity, she also found that gathering the new bone chunks she was gathering gave her inspiration.

Collecting skeletons became her hobby, to the point of becoming a fanatic.

One day, he overheard a mother scolding her son:

"If you don't do what the scary old woman in the coat will knock on your door, enter your room, and remove all the bones from your body!"

Sucrose was so curious that he couldn't help investigating the matter further. It turned out that this was nothing more than a ghost story that mothers used to tell their children to scare them, and that, in fact, it had existed long before she was born.

Upon discovering the truth, she sighed in relief.

Shortly after that, people noticed that Sucrose had exchanged his cloth jacket for a leather one. Maybe he did it because he was embarrassed. Or maybe to avoid raising suspicions ...

    Character story 4

As Albedo's maid, Sucrose goes out of her way to help him. Although his alchemical investigations tend more towards the abstruse, he learns a lot every time he helps him.

After an experiment that lasted five days and five nights in a row, Albedo noticed that Sucrose couldn't take it anymore due to her exhaustion, and organized a mandatory seven-day vacation for her.

She began her vacation determined to rest well and recharge, but from day one she struggled to adjust to the vacation lifestyle.

I had breakfast first. Fried eggs, sausages and a cup of coffee. So far, so good. They were foods and drinks that he had previously investigated.

    Then he thought:

"I'll get some rest and relax in the sun with a good book." Once again, all good. Research has shown that this is one of the best ways to relax. However, he had already read all of his books, and had already underlined important points and researched and annotated clarifications on the research articles that interested him the most.

So she set about doing some housework: washing clothes, dusting, and tidying up. Well, once again, no problem. The fact that a clean and orderly environment is conducive to mental well-being could not be disputed:

Half the day passed and Sucrose still hadn't had the chance to ask herself why this or that even once.

She was bored, restless, and distraught, and could no longer calm down.

She was desperate to investigate anything; whatever. He even thought about studying the plants he had in pots on his terrace, even knowing that it would be useless.

Anything as long as time passed faster.

But wherever she looked — the lucettas to her left, the sweet flowers in front of her, or the caecilians to her right — she only saw things that she had already researched extensively.

Finally, he gave up and forced himself to sleep. The next day, he went to the laboratory first thing in the morning to report his situation.

"I have nothing to investigate or question myself all day. This is not a vacation, it is torture!"

    Character story 5

Sucrose's childhood was no different than anyone else in Mondstadt. He had loving parents and good friends. His life was simple and beautiful.

His best childhood memory is a story about a wonderful place that he once heard.

In a remote corner of Teyvat, there was an unknown Domain with beautiful pink flowers the height of a hundred people together, little floating fairies fluttering everywhere, and beautiful unicorns running around. It was the pinnacle of perfection.

Sucrose and her two best friends believed that if they could get to that magical place, they would live happily ever after.

But time passed, and one of her friends had to go on a long journey with her adventurous parents from which she never returned.

On the other hand, a tragedy took place in the other's family: her father fell ill and died, his personality changed and he broke his friendship with Sucrose.

The promise they made to meet one day in the future no longer meant anything.

Sucrose felt more alone than ever. They had not yet decided to go to that paradise and their friends were no longer ...

However, even if they were not destined to meet again, Sucrose had a great desire to somehow honor their friendship. It was then that he discovered the existence of bioalchemy in a bookcase that he read.

He realized that although he could never reach the entrance to that wonderful place, he now had the opportunity to create his own paradise.

Thus, he began to study this complicated discipline, in which he poured all his curiosity and passion.

However, he never told anyone the story of paradise and his past friends.

Maybe one day, when that wonderful place is no longer just in the books and becomes real, her friends will return.

Haze Flower Project no. 3, version 17: attempt to enlarge

Sucrose has strict requirements to select the species for its personal paradise. After experimenting with them, he puts a "Pass" label on specimens that meet his standards.

At first, he wanted to give each of the plants an exotic name, just like they do in stories, but every time he wanted to do it, he couldn't think of anything.

After a long time being a scientist, she insisted on inventing flawless logic for something as relatively trivial as naming.

His first series of names included the following:

    • "Grass flower": a flower that grows in grass.

    • "Flower grass": a grass that grows under the flowers.

    • "Multi-grass flower": a flower that grows among dense grass; And a long etcetera.

Sucrose needed an eternity for him to come up with names like those, so little "typical of a paradise"; even longer than his experiments lasted.

In the end, he stopped inventing names and simply used the identification codes that he had written down in his notes.

This resulted in much longer names, but she was the creator of her paradise anyway, so why couldn't she name things whatever she wanted?

    Vision

Sucrose received her Vision in an afternoon like any other.

Ready to begin her 159th simmer experiment with dandelion seeds, she poured her carefully crafted alchemical solution into the cauldron.

The cauldron immediately reached boiling point, and the entire room filled with steam.

Sucrose rushed to the cauldron, eager to see what new transmutation had taken place this time. She was so excited that she burned both her hands when she touched the rim of the cauldron.

Unfortunately, the dandelion seeds had burned again, but there was also something new: among the scorched dandelion seeds, there was a Vision.

And yet, instead of spilling the liquid and keeping the Vision, he first thought about it for a moment, then put the cauldron on fire again to keep simmering.

I was curious what other reactions might occur when mixing dandelion seeds with Visions.

However, the experiment failed after the cauldron had been simmering for three hours without stopping.

But there was no denying that he had achieved a great reward thanks to that experiment, since the elemental energy of his Vision became the best tool he could have for his bioalchemy research.

    Birthday...

Happy Birthday! I've been doing experiments for months, and I can finally give you this potion. It will allow you to relive your most beautiful memories of the past year. I call it "Biopotion # 3196". No, it's not 3196! It's 3916!

It's 3916!
